Agent Snapshot: CeCelia Smith, Realtor, Better Homes and Garden Real Estate Gary Greene, Houston

CeCelia-Smith

CeCelia Smith is a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene working in The Woodlands.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Working the front desk part time while getting my license. Pathway helped me get to know all the other agents before I jumped in with both feet running! Eighteen years later I’m still running!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I like to walk the nature trails in Indian Springs – or my husband and I will grab a meal at a trendy, fun place and listen to music and people watch!

Where did you grow up? Long Island, N.Y. I go back to visit the beaches every year

Growing up, what did you want to be? A gymnast in the Olympics.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Well, my first though was Jesus – and what a chat that would be! But realistically I think Leonardo da Vinci and/or Shakespeare – such brilliant minds in a not so friendly period of our world, yet they made an indelable mark on history.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Any beautiful beach – Long Island – Mexico – etc. But here, locally, I like to walk around old town spring and eat lunch – and shop.

What do you love most about the industry? Helping people. We really provide a great service. Helping people find the largest investment of their lives – making sure it fits the needs of the unsocial family (kids , schools, lets etx) I stay close friends with most if my clients.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I go above and boy ins of what is expected in any transaction. I make sure the other professionals we have to work with are as “forward thinking” as I am.
I never wai for someone to tell me something’s wrong . I’m always a step ahead of the contract/closing process
Plus – believe it or not I love what I do- and I’m good at it

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Loans. Appraisers, repair issue based on inspections . Trying to keep everyone calm through this part is difficult . We prevail though!!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Social events, the local gym, Internet , social networking , goggle plus , Facebook, Twitter? DuPont registry , our personal and company websites, mail outs , referrals , sphere of influence.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Having my son Dale

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?Insomnia – stephen King book

What is your favorite restaurant? Pollatas

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?MOMA

What kind of car do you drive?Hummer

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone all the way!!

What is your favorite city after Houston? New York

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?Listen – listen to how other agents talk to clients and how they speak to each other. Take extra computer classes.
Get your certifications. Become a member of the Chamber or some other orginazarion for networking.
Get up, dress up , show up.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? HAR while showing properties
Zipforms and docusign when writing offers.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?Local companies – oil & gas – techie gurus – and some comedians because I could use a good laugh from time to time!
