What was your first job in the realty industry?
With a background in finance, I started in the mortgage industry. After handling & processing my first loan I decided that I wanted to be on the other side of the table since I am more a people person! Being behind the desk and behind piles of papers was not for me.

Where did you grow up?
Born in Brooklyn in New York, I am a native Houstonian being here now for 31 years. Lived in the Cy-Fair area, Westchase District, Galleria area and now in Fort Bend for nearly 9 years.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Whenever I do have free time I like to reconnect with my friends, kids & husband. I enjoy going to the ballet, festivals, trying new restaurants and best thing of all… shopping for shoes!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I take what’s called a “Michelle Moment” – soaking in my tub with candles and glass (or two) of wine.
I also disconnect completely from all electronic sources also seem to aleviate quite a bit of stress! I also like taking hot yoga classes, because it loosens my muscles and de-stresses and revitalize me.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I didn’t know in what sense but I knew that I wanted to be my OWN boss. I was always a sales person. I started selling Avon door to door for my mom at the age of 13 and started my own babysitting business in the summers – I always wanted to make my own money! I spent 12 years in the automobile business in various postitions and that is what made me who I am today…I’ve been 100% commission paid since I was 19 years old.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Anthony Robbins. He is such an inspiring and motivating individual. I have his collection of CDs and when I’m in a rut, I pop in his CD and I’m back on track! He has so many different takes on life in so many different levels that one would not normally think about. He brings it to the surface and you can apply his wisdom to so many different facets of your life.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
In my office! I love my office and everyone I work with. I always learn a thing or two while I’m in the office. Or, I share a thing or two that I know with someone who may benefit. There’s always a positive sense of success in my office and I want to surround myself around that – not to mention, they all make me smile. I sometimes get distracted and off track from the primary purpose of me being there but some one on one time with the ones I work with is really good for my soul.

What do you love most about the industry?
There are so many aspects of this industry that I love but if I have to pinpoint just one, it would be the smile, tears and joy of getting a first time homebuyer into a home that they’ve waited their entire lives for. There is no greater satisfaction nor amount of money that could fulfill me than the appreciation from the clients that are truly happy to be in their home and truly appreciate my efforts. I have made so many friends with my clients by being in this industry, and to me THAT is priceless.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I stay on top of technology to provide the most convenience to my tech savy “Next Gen” home buyers and sellers. I am completely mobile so I can practically do anything from anywhere. I stay in constant communication with my clients and provide the honest truth whether they want to hear it or not. I also will go out of my way to help my fellow agent succeed, I will share what has worked for me and what hasn’t.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Time management. Learning when to stop working.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I am involved in many charity events and this is where I will network and meet many new clients. I also try to attend as many local events as possible in my Young Professional Networking group.
