Veronica Ramirez is a Realtor with RE/MAX Realty Center in Cypress.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
My first job in the industry was as an assistant with a surveying company.

Where did you grow up?
I am straight up TEXAS!  Born and raised in the Cypress area. I graduated from Cypress Creek High School.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Dancing. I love to take dance classes in the area in my free time. It’s great exercise, fun and upbeat! There is this place I go to that allows walk-ins. You pay $15 for an hour. They teach you an entire routine within that time frame. It’s super fun!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Lie down and pop in a movie!

Growing up, what did you want to be?
The next Paula Abdul! I wanted to be the best choreographer in town! Every childhood memory I have of myself includes me dancing or singing to something.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to meet George W. Bush! Watching him stumble over his words is funny! Reminds me of myself! Michael Buble, too! Although, a conversation with George would surely be entertaining!

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Gosh, I don’t do a lot of hanging out. I guess when I want to hang out, I go to my parent’s house and hang out with them!

What do you love most about the industry?
The people, definitely! I love to meet new people and build relationships with them. Helping someone you care about with such a huge purchase makes me happy. I am truly fortunate to cross paths with so many amazing people.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My heart! I pride myself in keeping the honesty and integrity level high. Each of my clients becomes my new extended family, and I definitely look out for their needs as I would my own families.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Getting to know my clients is amazing; however, we all go through trials, and it’s difficult to hear that some of my clients have to buy or sell due to losses in their lives (jobs, a loved one, etc.). Some of my clients make the transition of moving because they have to, not because they want to.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Anywhere and everywhere! I am always looking for an opportunity to talk real estate – grocery stores, neighbors, kids’ functions, friends and different Realtor events.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My son! God has blessed me with an amazing young man who changes my life everyday. He is always making me laugh. I’d like to think that I had a lot to do with how outstanding he really is.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
I’d love to read a book! I keep getting them, but never have the time to read them. I recently saw The Lucky One. I haven’t seen a good chick flick in a while, and this was pretty good!

What is your favorite restaurant?
Fogo de Chao!  I can stay as long as I want and keep eating….pause….and eat again! I can make a day of it. You’ve got to go if you’ve never been!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
I LOVE the Manhattan Lofts in Uptown Houston.

What kind of car do you drive?
I recently got a new Sonata. Think I want something bigger…

Smartphone or Paper?
Love my smartphone, but I am a note-taker! I think I love my paper more!

What is your favorite city after Houston?
I love San Antonio! I never get tired of visiting the Alamo, the river walk or market street! A walk down market street is the best! There are food stands galore and lots of music and little shops. I like walking from food cart to food cart just sampling everything they have to eat! I really love food, if you can’t tell.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Take on every opportunity!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
I don’t Twitter!  Is that bad?
