Howard Hughes Corp. unveils plans for newest Bridgeland addition

by Lindsey Wells

The Howard Hughes Corp. recently announced plans for Parkland Row, the newest addition to its Bridgeland master-planned community.

Set to follow a traditional neighborhood design (TND), Parkland Row will feature extensive sustainability features, including a centralized park and lake element for residents to connect with their community and engage with nature, according to a press release.

David Weekley Homes has been named as the project’s builder. Model homes are anticipated to open in the winter of 2022.

Parkland Row is Parkland Village’s second TND neighborhood. It follows the success of Parkland Square, also built by David Weekley Homes.

“Parkland Square drew a tremendous response to Bridgeland and sold out earlier this year, and we expect the same for Parkland Row,” said Heath Melton, executive vice president of master-planned communities. “Not only will Parkland Row bring a sought-after architectural style and neighborhood design to Bridgeland, but it will continue the path forward for The Howard Hughes Corporation as responsible stewards of the environment with sustainable, forward-thinking design and a focus on health and wellness. This project will build on our previous success and lead the way forward to further integrate the residential experience with the surrounding ecosystem.”

The neighborhood will offer 288 homes ranging from 1,400 to 3,400 square feet. Its architectural style will be similar to that of Parkland Square’s modern farmhouse/prairie style.

Parkland Row and Parkland Square will be joined by a centralized park and event pavilion, where various outdoor activities and the playground will encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.

All Parkland Row street names will end with “ous,” such as Adventurous, Joyous, Marvelous and Courteous.
