Compass joins the Fortune 500

by Emily Mack

Compass made its debut on the Fortune 500 today, becoming one of the youngest companies to make the list. Founded in 2012, Compass has grown quickly to include 30,000 agents across 352 U.S. cities, according to a press release from the company.

“Compass joining the Fortune 500 so early in our journey was made possible by the tens of thousands of Compass agents and employees who believed that together we can build the future of real estate,” said Robert Reffkin, Compass chairman, founder and CEO, in the press release. “This honor validates our belief that empowering the country’s top agents with the industry’s most advanced technology platform is the best way to deliver an exceptional experience to every homebuyer and seller.”

With a recent market value of more than $3.3 billion, Compass ranks at No. 495 on the list. The only other residential real estate company in this year’s top 500 is Realogy Holdings, ranked at No. 427.
