Douglas Elliman announces Houston senior executive manager of sales

by Lindsey Wells

Luxury real estate firm Douglas Elliman Realty recently appointed a new senior executive manager of sales for Houston, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle.

James Horne will support 149 agents, most of whom work in the luxury real estate space with an average home price of $1.01 million. Horne will also assist with recruiting in Houston, according to the report.

“I’m excited to take on the Houston role of growing this office,” noted Horne, who said he was attracted to Douglas Elliman’s corporate culture.

In his previous role at Compass, Horne helped to facilitate $5.2 billion in sales for the 2021 fiscal year. As a sales manager, he was responsible for supporting approximately 240 of the company’s top Houston agents, along with mentoring, coaching and supporting more than 700 agents in total.

Douglas Elliman entered the Texas market in August 2019, first with an office in Houston, followed by offices in Dallas and Austin. In Houston, the firm represents several notable new developments, including condominium projects such as Stolz Partners’ The Sophie at Bayou Bend, Pelican Builders’ The Hawthorne, The Revere at River Oaks, and The Westmore.

Douglas Elliman is looking forward to continuing its momentum in Houston by growing both its transaction volume and headcount, the Houston Chronicle report noted.

“We are thrilled to welcome [Horne] to the Elliman family and are looking forward to expanding our Houston footprint together,” said Stephen Kotler, CEO of Douglas Elliman’s western region.
