New listings jump in Houston as homes sales surpass year-ago volumes

New and closed listings both increased in Houston during the week ended June 23, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors added 4,246 properties to the MLS during the week, a 21% increase year over year. Meanwhile, closings increased 3.5% year over year, with 1,783 home sales.

Pending sales declined 3.1% year over year, however, with 2,233 homes going under contract.

Traffic at property showings increased 1.3%, though, indicating a slight annual increase in buyer interest throughout the rest of the summer.
