by John Yellig

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Learning Consultant Tommie Wehrle was installed as the 2026 president of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, one of the leading LGBTQ+ trade organizations in the United States.

The nonprofit also named Richard Woods as its 2026 first vice president and 2027 president. Austin Rowe was elected as the 2026 second vice president and 2028 president, while Dan Darr was named secretary, and Rodney Mason was named treasurer.

Wehrle has been in the real estate industry for almost 35 years as an agent, broker/owner and instructor/coach. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Wehrle also spent three years as the co-chair of Anywhere Real Estate’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group REALPRIDE. She now serves as an advisor to REALPRIDE and is based in Milford, Connecticut.

“I believe our industry has the unique opportunity to be the ones who champion the removal of any barriers of homeownership entry for all marginalized groups, including the LGBTQ+ community,” Wehrle said. “The Alliance will continue to advocate and showcase examples of discrimination that hinder LGBTQ+ real estate professionals and our clients. We also have a commitment to welcome those real estate professionals who have LGBTQ+ children into the Alliance. With a growing membership pool, the opportunities to impact change grow each day.”

Woods is the broker/owner of Woods Real Estate Services in San Diego; Rowe is a Realtor with Onward Real Estate in Nashville, Tennessee; Darr is a Realtor at Equity Union in Palm Springs, California; and Mason is a senior loan officer at CrossCountry Mortgage in Atlanta.
