With more than 29 years helping families traverse the real estate industry, Leslie Lerner Properties broker and owner Leslie Lerner isn’t ready to slow down just yet. “I have seen a lot during that time,” she says. “The saddest part is many consumers do not know the difference between a good and bad Realtor.” Her clients are consistently impressed by her knowledge, reliability and responsiveness to their individual needs. “They use words such as invaluable, consummate professional and ultra-responsive,” she remarks. “My clients always know they can depend on me and that I have their best interests at heart.”
Lerner has been a Houstonian all her life, and originally set out to help educate the young minds of Texas. “I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an education degree,” she says. “I have always prided myself on being an educator, rather than a salesperson.”
Lerner’s long and prosperous career has brought its fair share of recognition. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott appointed her as a commissioner of the Texas Real Estate Commission. “This position provides me the opportunity to examine Texas real estate practices,” she says. “I have made it a point to give back to my community and do what I can to improve the lives of others.” In this role, she provides feedback on Texas real estate practices, listens to consumer reports and gives input on issues that will assure real estate professionals remain valuable to the consumer.
In her free time, Lerner enjoys weight training at the Houstonian Club and spending as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.
