Thu-Lynn Nguyen, Vice President of Marketing

InterLinc Mortgage Services LLC

Native Houstonian Thu-Lynn Nguyen, better known as TL, says her specialty is creating disruptive change, building brands in the mortgage space, designing a positive customer experience and inspiring productivity, even in situations with limited resources.

Nguyen started her career at an advertising agency after graduating in 2009 from the University of Houston’s Jack J. Valenti School of Communication. As a contributing writer for Forbes, Nguyen is most passionate about building and leading marketing teams, notably in the United States and India.

Over a decade of creating marketing disruption within the mortgage industry, this vice president of marketing for InterLinc has gained a reputation for building and rebranding lenders in the mortgage industry. With skill sets in business development, new customer acquisition, demand generation, brand awareness, strategy development and implementing marketing technology, Nguyen summarizes her role as “creating demand.”

Different from marketing positions for other large companies, marketing for financial services can be tricky, as the core purpose is to market a service during great seasons and, sometimes, incredibly volatile seasons. “Every marketing leader within a mortgage company is responsible for one thing, and that’s to create a sticky service for their branches and originators,” she says. “Stickiness is providing such phenomenal services through the form of effective marketing campaigns that it becomes unbearably difficult to replicate, creating increased retention.”

As a first-generation immigrant and the first in her immediate family to graduate from college, Nguyen credits her work ethic to her Vietnamese parents. “Their grit and determination to provide a solid foundation for our family gives me motivation to never let them down and succeed in ways they would have never dreamed,” she shares. Nguyen believes that the “best blessing” she ever received was being born to immigrant parents. Today, she enjoys spending her weekend with her three young kids, ages 4 months to 4 years, and husband of seven years.
