2014 was a VERY good year for new construction in Houston, according to the latest stats.
Total residential construction spending in the Houston area was $9.841 billion in 2014, a 15 percent increase from 2013, according to new numbers from Dodge Data & Analytics.
That was in addition to Houston’s strong December construction market, which saw activity rise from $610 million in Dec. 2013 to $688 million in 2014, a 13 percent increase.
The size of Houston’s construction market remains among the largest in the nation – at $9.841 billion, for instance, it’s nearly three times that of Boston’s – but we’ll have to see how those numbers change in 2015, with the nation’s energy sector on the decline.
