What was the deal with our local new construction marketplace last month?
February proved a storming month for residential new construction in the Houston area, according to new numbers from Dodge Data & Analytics.
For the month, residential construction in Houston totaled $1.017 billion, a 34 percent increase from January; thus far in 2015, Houston residential spending totals $1.730 billion, which is up 26 percent from the same time period in 2014.
Although February is only the second month of the year, those numbers come amidst a national slowdown in construction activity, suggesting that though trouble may be gathering on the horizon, Houston’s present market has plenty of gas left in the tank.
