The Dinerstein Cos. has hired Patrick Dennis to become the new president of construction for the company as they make headway with their first luxury tower.
Dennis, a Texas A&M University graduate, was the director of West Coast construction for Wood Partners LLC for nine years. He oversaw the construction of 28 high-rise apartment projects, which covered 5,000 units and $1.1 billion in investments, and he hopes to use his expertise to bolster Dinerstein’s potential.
“I want to build on Dinerstein’s success,” Dennis said. “We want to continue with our core business but also diversify and grow our market.”
Dennis was also a project manager at JE Dunn Construction, where he managed the completion of the BBA Compass Plaza, the Mosaic condominium towers and the redevelopment of Exxon Mobil Corp’s corporate headquarters in downtown Houston, along with leading the construction of Uptown Park, a European-style high-end retail center and condominium in Uptown with Interfin Cos.
The Dinerstein Cos. broke ground on The Vantage, a 22-story, 375-unit apartment project located near the Texas Medical Center. The high-rise is Dinerstein’s first, so they are reaching out to its general contractor Gilbane Inc., based in Providence, Rhode Island, to learn how to build them. The company has plans to develop more high-rise projects in Texas and California.
