Johnson Development Services recently announced that it would extend its Candela community by over 100 acres.
According to a press release, the company purchased 117.17 additional acres, which will accommodate 346 homes and offer a mix of 40-, 50- and 60-foot homesites.
The land is located along FM 359, approximately two miles south of Candela.
“This is a prime property in a growing area of Fort Bend County,” said Michael Cox, president of Johnson Development Services. “With Candela so close and having such a strong brand identity that has rapidly drawn home buyers, it’s natural for us to continue the name. This property will be developed in the same manner as Candela.”
Johnson Development purchased the acreage from two separate owners, the release noted. Claudia Wright of R&W Real Estate, Inc., was the broker for both parties.
Cox said he expects home sales to begin in mid-to-late 2023. However, pricing has not been determined.
“Demand continues to rise for homes in Candela,” Cox added. “Our sales total is double this year from what it was at this time last year, thanks to our builder partners.”
Currently, Candela features homes built by Coventry Homes, Perry Homes and Westin Homes. The three builders will offer homes in the new section once complete.
