New listings were down again year over year, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors added 3,302 properties into the Multiple Listing Service during the week ended June 12 — a 12.2% decrease from the same period in 2022. Pending listings were down as well, with 7.5% fewer homes going under contract during the week than last year.

Additionally, closings were down 13.1% year over year. A year ago, 2,153 homes were sold during the week ended June 12, but that number shrank to 1,870 closings this year.

Despite these numbers, traffic at showings was still up 16.2% year over year with 47,147 total property showings occurring during the week.
