Despite a brief uptick last week, new listings are down once again in Houston.

According to the Houston Association of REALTORS® Weekly Activity Snapshot for the week ended July 10, 2,875 new listings were entered into the Multiple Listing Service. That’s a 19.9% decrease from the amount listed during the same week in 2022.

Closings are also down by 18.6% year over year, with 1,717 homes sold during the week versus 2,110 a year ago.

However, activity at showings is still well above 2022 levels. Over 43,000 property showings occurred during the week, up 8.5% from last year.
