HAR: New listings remain high in Houston

by Emily Marek

New listings exceeded 2023 volumes for the tenth week in a row, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Realtors entered 3,999 properties into the MLS during the week ended June 10, an 18.2% increase year over year.

Pending and closed listings fell during the week, however. Pending listings dropped 5.9%, with 2,353 homes going under contract, compared to 2,500 during the same week in 2023, while closings decreased 9.6%, with 1,696 homes sold, compared to 1,877 a year ago.

Meanwhile, listing views on HAR.com increased by 25.2% year over year, indicating that consumer interest remains high despite decreased sales activity.
