Closings surpassed 2023 volumes during the 26th week of the year, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Closings increased by 10.4% year over year, with 2,714 homes sold compared to 2,458 during the same week in 2023. Pending listings remained statistically flat with approximately 2,400 homes going under contract during the week.

Meanwhile, new listings continued to fuel active inventory. Realtors added 4,047 properties to the MLS, a 29.8% increase year over year. That marks the 13th consecutive week of year-over-year increases.

Consumer interest also remains high: Property showings increased, albeit minimally, over 2023 volumes for the first time in weeks, with consumer traffic increasing by 0.2% year over year. Listing views on HAR.com also increased by a whopping 46.7% annually.
