Following a week of year-over-year declines, new listings in Houston recovered from the impacts of Hurricane Beryl during the week ended July 22.
According to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR), Realtors added 3,467 properties into the MLS, a 1.5% increase year over year. The week prior, only 2,180 properties were added to the market as statewide power outages curbed market activity.
Pending and closed listings have yet to bounce back, though: Pending listings fell 20.8% year over year, with 1,902 properties going under contract compared to 2,400 during the same week in 2023; closings fell 6.8%, with 1,750 homes sold compared to 1,877.
Consumer interest remains high, however, with listing views on HAR.com increasing by 60.5% year over year.
