New listings top year-ago pace in latest weekly survey

New listings in Houston during the week ended Sept. 2 continued to outpace those placed a year ago, rising 23.3% year over year, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors added 3,350 properties to the MLS, up from 2,716 properties during the same week in 2023. Pending listings fell 6.2% to 1,768.

Closed home sales fell 5.3% year over year, sliding to 1,872 from 1,976 a year earlier.

Listing views on HAR.com surged 18.7% to 9,397,360, while showings continued to trail 2023 volumes, dipping 4.4% from a year earlier to 35,035.
