Mark Woodroof, CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Green, was named chair of the Texas Real Estate Commission.
Woodroof has previously served in leadership positions with the National Association of REALTORS®, Texas REALTORS® and the Houston Association of REALTORS®. He’s also a member of the Real Estate Business Institute.
“It’s a privilege to serve the people of Texas and our industry in this capacity,” Woodroof said. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow commissioners to uphold the integrity and trust that are essential to our profession.”
In his new role with the state real estate department, Woodroof is tasked with overseeing the group, which does work to protect consumers and regulate the industry in Texas.
The appointment, made by Governor Greg Abbott, is still subject to Senate confirmation, the governor’s office said in a news release.
