What was your first job in the realty industry? I had a realtor license around 1989 and did a little bit mostly in the foreclosure market. I have worked in the automotive industry for almost 35 years during that time. I restarted my real estate career in 2006 selling new homes for a very large builder in Houston.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in the Bronx New York. I was raised in the area called Throgs Neck, Very diversified , a true melting pot.
Growing up, what did you want to be? As a young child, I wanted to be an oceanographer. That changed in high school when I wanted to be a graphic artist. During my freshman year at college my father decided that I would not become a starving artist . My father was a very humble person and told me that I needed to work with my hands, and he enrolled me in technical training school to become a diesel mechanic. After over 30 years in the automotive industry doing everything imaginable I finally decided my career needed to shift and I got back into my first True love of Real Estate.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I fish in my backyard on a 5 acre lake. It takes me about three minutes to relieve all my stress
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? It would probably be a musician who has influenced and inspired many, Elvis, Jimmy Hendricks, Bob Dylan
Where is your favorite place to hang out? Many Blues Venues Around Houston, Memphis Tennessee Blues scene
What do you love most about the industry? Always something different in every client, They seek our knowledge, skills and experience, the market is always changing, When I travel and people inquire about the Housto market, I usually joke and tell them what happened in the last few hours
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Just a giving person, with trust and integrity, everything else follows suit
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Controlling the uncontrollable, It is getting harder everyday for people to honestly communicate, Without it, there is no accountability
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am an very involved participant on many boards within HAR, political action committees, Houston Blues Society, lots of educational, social events
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Many on my Bucket list, attaining my BBA undergrad at age 49, running 3 Marathons after age 59, 41 years of marriage, working on learning to play my saxophone Abd someday perform on stage
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Not a big movie buff, like reading world history books
What is your favorite restaurant? Tony Tai in Bellaire
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? Transco Tower
What kind of car do you drive? Well broken in Lexus 330, only 250.000 miles, Runs like new
Smartphone or paper? Learning something new everyday on phone, prefer to communicate by Taljing the old fashion way
What is your favorite city after Houston? NY NY and Rome
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Always seek advise with a mentor, always tell the Truth
