What was your first job in the realty industry?
I hit the ground running as a Realtor and never looked back. I love what I do for a living! I am currently a GRI, ABR and finishing classes to complete my broker’s license.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, but moved to Houston when I was 18. Would never leave Texas. Absolutely love it here!

Boating. My seven-pound chihuahua, Winston, and I go to the lake, and that’s where we soak up the sun and find our relaxation with the sun and the fun.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I am fortunate to have a great core of friends that I can call at any time and vent and get everything off my chest. They are very supportive and always always there for me.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
Growing up I wanted to be an attorney or a Realtor. Working in real estate with contracts is something I really love. My aunt was a Realtor and she knew everyone and everyone loved her; who doesn’t want that job?
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Elvis. Let’s face it, that man was just really cool. He was a Southern boy who loved his family. But he struggled with his weight and he struggled with trying to have some kind of normal life in total chaos, and he would just be interesting to talk to regarding his views.
Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I would have to say the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I have been a volunteer for 12 years now. I see what a difference those scholarships make in children’s lives. It’s also a place I get to see lifelong friends I have made. Those friends can be counted on day or night.
What do you love most about the industry?
I love that I can actually help people achieve their dream of owning or renting a home. To see a family who wants more than anything just to have a home and be the person that helps them get that is so rewarding. My clients become my friends. I’m so thankful for each family that I meet.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I answer my phone day and night. I work on their file and their searches day and night. I go the extra mile at all times to do anything and everything I can for my clients. I literally will do just about anything for my clients. That has included helping them get moving boxes out to their car to get to closing on time. Whatever it takes! I am there for them.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The most difficult aspect in the last year has proved to be lending. Although interest rates are extremely low, the lending rules have become tougher. Buyers are having a harder time getting their loans approved. That is definitely frustrating when you know they are a good buyer.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Honestly, I am weak at networking. I am a dynamo at one on one. My clients feel an instant connection when they meet me, but I am socially awkward at larger gatherings. HOT NERD 🙂

“Can I say Magic Mike? LOL. Actually I read “The Secret” often. All of us feel a little negative or down at times. “The Secret” reminds me to stay positive with my thoughts and my actions. I want to feel good and I want to be good. It reminds me that I am truly blessed and lucky to have everything that God has given to me.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Babin’s Seafood House, hands down. Give me a blackened seafood platter, and I am in chunky girl heaven.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
I can’t say I have ever taken the time to appreciate the architecture in Houston. I have been too busy selling homes.
What kind of car do you drive?
Lexus SUV. Dependable but sporty.
Smartphone or paper?
Highly addicted to the smartphone. I have to recharge three times a day. That’s not excessive, right?
What is your favorite city after Houston?
Destin, Florida. Put me on the beach with the sun and the sand and the ocean waves and I truly am in my happy place.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Be prepared to work hard. Stay focused. Ask often.
