Texas ranks as one of the greenest states to move to in 2023, according to an analysis from real estate website House Method.
House Method used data from Consumer Affairs, the Solar Energy Industries Association and the U.S. Energy Information Administration to determine which states are the most environmentally friendly. States were ranked based on conditions like air quality, water quality, soil quality, statewide policies, eco-friendly initiatives and use of renewable energy.
Texas ranks as the second-greenest state in the country when it comes to solar power, trailing only behind California. Nearly 14,000 megawatts of solar power are generated in Texas, powering 1,682,330 homes.
Other states recognized for their solar power usage include Florida, North Carolina and Arizona.
