The Emory Glen development team celebrated the grand opening of its new amenity complex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 29. Sales in the Magnolia master-planned community began in early 2023, with the first residents moving in over the summer.

Local officials and members of the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce were all in attendance at the unveiling of the complex, which is anchored by the Alcove Pavilion, an open-air outdoor gathering space, as well as Tidewater Pool.

The celebration will continue with the Emory Glen County Fair, set to take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Alcove Pavilion. Emory Glen will donate $10 per attendee — up to $5,000 — to the Magnolia Independent School District Education Foundation.

“The support is very much appreciated,” said Tina Slansky, president of the foundation. “Community partners, such as Empire Continental Land and Emory Glen, are how we are able to give away thousands of dollars each year for teacher grants, student scholarships and awards for teachers, bus drivers and bus monitors.”
