Certain Texas cities rank among the top in the country for large apartment sizes, according to a report from RentCafe.
When it comes to new apartments, the biggest units in the state are found in Lubbock: the average new apartment is 1,037 square feet. Ten years ago, new apartments in the city were about 153 square feet smaller.
Lubbock was followed by Corpus Christi, Houston, Plano, El Paso, Fort Worth, Arlington, San Antonio, Lewisville, Irving, Dallas and Austin.
Nationwide, Gainesville, Florida, was the city with the largest new apartments, at a size of 1,173 square feet. That’s an increase of 19.7% — or about 193 square feet — in the past decade.
