Houston-based urban planner and property management company Concept Neighborhood has unveiled plans to turn a mile-long stretch of Houston’s Second Ward into a walkable, inclusive community.
“At the heart of our strategy is walkable urbanism,” Concept Neighborhood’s site reads. “The concept is rooted in hyper-proximity in which residents are located within a 15-minute walk, bike or transit ride of daily needs like grocery stores, cafes, schools, parks, workspaces, healthcare and other essential services.”
Concept Neighborhood’s plan includes 250,000 square feet of retail and creative office space as well as 1,000 multifamily units with workforce housing. The proposed plan extends from the Second Ward Station to Buffalo Bayou.
