NAR Proposed Due Increase: Voice your Opinion

by Houston Agent

The National Association of Realtors recently proposed a membership due increase of up to 50 percent, potentially increasing 2012 membership dues from the current $80, to $120, according to AgentGenius, in an effort to reshape campaign financing.

As word of the proposal spread in late March, many current NAR members expressed disagreement with the increase, stating that this was poor planning on behalf of NAR, due to the harsh economic times. However, associations and large brokers support the spike in dues, according to NAR.

With approval pending, RealTown has arranged a poll to measure the quantity of members for or against the Realtor party Political Survival Initiative. With a current tally of 2,500 votes, responses have shown an array of opinions. Members are being offered the opportunity to add their input up until Thursday, May 5 at 5 PM.

The NAR Board of Directors will be meeting on May 14 at the Midyear Meetings in D.C. to decide on membership due proposal. While the input gathered through the poll will not serve as an official vote, the results will be presented to the public before the final decision is made.

Let your voice be heard on this important issue; fill out the poll here.
