HAR reports new listings and closings down in 2022

The Houston Association of REALTORS® has revealed in their weekly snapshot that new listings are down 13.5% compared to last year. Pending listings are also down, with a 33% decrease from 2021 to 2022.

Closings also remain lower than they were this time last year: with 2,070 closed properties in 2022, closed sales of homes are down 14.8%.

Off-market listings have also increased since 2021. The HAR reports that there has been a 12% increase in homes that were pulled from the market in 2022.

However, attendance at property showings has increased since last year, with consumer traffic up 10.4%. In contrast, listing views on HAR.com are down 36%.
