Charles El-Moussa’s confirmed as new MRED general counsel

by Emily Mack

Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) has appointed Charles El-Moussa to the position of general counsel, effective immediately. In that role, he’ll provide legal guidance to MRED’s ongoing strategic discussions amid the changing real estate landscape.

In addition to working with MRED’s current legal firm Greenberg Traurig on existing litigation, El-Moussa will handle internal contracts and governance, support human resources and provide other legal input.

Previously, El-Moussa served as president at Coldwell Banker Realty and as general counsel and COO at RE/MAX in Texas. He also worked as a commercial litigator and strategic investor, consultant, and advisor for various real estate and technology companies, including Realtor.com. He’s mentored startups through the National Association of Realtors® REACH program and, in 2019, was recognized as one of the 200 most influential figures in real estate by the Swanepoel Power 200 report.

“Charles is an exceptional addition to our team, bringing not only a strong legal background but also a deep understanding of real estate operations,” MRED President Rebecca Jensen said in a press release. “His leadership experience, particularly as general counsel, COO and president of top brokerages in Texas, will be a huge asset as we continue to navigate the complexities of our industry.”

“I’m thrilled to join Rebecca and the talented MRED team in this new role,” El-Moussa said. “This is an incredibly dynamic time for the industry, and I look forward to working together to serve the estate professionals who rely on us.”
