New listings still on the rise in Houston

by Emily Marek

New listings rose 16.3% year over year during the week ended Nov. 4, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Over 3,000 new listings were added to the MLS, marking the fifteenth straight week of annual increases over 2023 volumes.

Pending and closed listings also increased annually — 1,888 homes went under contract compared to 1,728 a year prior. That’s a jump of 9.3%. Meanwhile, 2,145 homes were sold, a 23.6% increase year over year.

Activity at property showings and traffic on HAR.com both increased annually as well, demonstrating consumer interest heading into the final months of the year.
