Both new and active listings saw double-digit annual increases in December, according to the First Real Estate Snapshot of Houston (FRESH) Report from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors added 9,438 properties to the MLS last month, a 17.6% increase year over year. That extra boost elevated total active listings to 28,898 properties, up 24.5% year over year.

Meanwhile, the average listing price rose 4.9% to $441,396. A year prior, the average listing price was $420,793.
