by Emily Marek

Closings, Week 1, 2025 (via HAR)

Closed home sales were 7.6% higher during the first week of 2025 than they were in the first week of 2024, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Single-family home sales rose 7.6% year over year, with 1,410 closings during the week. Pending home sales, however, dropped 23.1%, with 1,281 listings going under contract.

Despite that drop in pending listings, consumer interest remains high: listing views on HAR.com jumped 13% year over year, with over 9.3 million listing views during the week.
