Both pending and closed listings increased year over year in Houston during the week ended May 5, the Houston Association of REALTORS® said in its Weekly Activity Snapshot.

Closed home sales increased 1.7% year over year, with 2,363 homes sold during the week. Pending sales, meanwhile, increased by 1.2% as 2,535 listings went under contract.

New listings skyrocketed, with 4,753 homes added to the market. That was a 37% increase year over year.

Off-market listings increased 37.7% year over year, with 2,550 listings pulled from the market.
