Having seen every loan scenario in his 25 years in the mortgage business, Cary Cox confidently navigates potential issues ahead of time, eliminating surprises for his clients during the loan process. His experience as a real estate broker-owner taught him to understand the importance of constant communication with all parties, which enables him to provide smooth, well-executed transactions.

Recently, Cox provided such a solution for a self-employed borrower who owned several businesses and was undergoing a complex divorce. “My experience got the loan approved, though my professionalism and clear communication of what was needed to ensure success for all parties is what got the loan closed,” Cox shares. “Even the spouse’s legal team said I was the most professional lender that had ever worked on one of their divorce cases.”

A former Texas Monthly Magazine Five Star Mortgage Professional, Cox says his approach is consultative rather than sales-oriented. He emphasizes that being a good listener is essential to achieving the best outcome. He attributes his success to his personal “mortgage ethos” of treating everyone in the transaction professionally, respectfully, honestly and fairly.

Off the clock, Cox is an active tennis player as well as a 30-year student and teacher of martial arts. He enjoys traveling, especially to Colombia, where he lived for two years and learned Spanish.
