Brit Ewers is a broker associate with Sudhoff Properties in Central Houston.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
My first job in the real estate industry began as an internship with Castle Hill Investments in 2004 while attending the University of Texas at Austin. Based out of Austin, Castle Hill Investments specialized in residential investment property and was the leader in 1-4 family investment property.

Where did you grow up?
Grand Prairie, Texas, located between Dallas and Fort Worth.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
An afternoon on the lake.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Head to the gym for a good workout.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I always wanted to be an architect or a homebuilder. I used to draw other homes in the neighborhood, figure out the floorplans and then build them out of legos.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Oprah, because she has experienced and met a wide variety of people, and I would find it fascinating to ask her questions.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Hermann Park is one of my favorite places in Houston.

What do you love most about the industry?
I love real estate because I get the chance to work in an industry I am passionate about, to know people very well and help them with one of the biggest investments a person can make. I find it very rewarding.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
By constantly trying to find ways to improve and never settling for less than 110 percent.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The most difficult part of my job is managing expectations. I tend to be a perfectionist and want everyone to be happy at all times. In new construction, there can be a lot of variables outside of my control, but I always strive to keep everyone happy on all elements of the transaction.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Every place I go is an opportunity to network. As an on–site agent for Lovett Homes, I rely on the Internet and consistently updating photos on the MLS to encourage buyers to visit my listings.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
Being able to make a career out of a childhood dream.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
The last movie I saw was The Avengers in 3-D, and it was a really good movie.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Uchi is hands down my favorite restaurant.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Menil Collection.

What kind of car do you drive?
A black BMW 3-series sedan.

Smartphone or Paper?
Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Houston?
Austin, TX. My home before Houston, I will always love the laid back vibe, Lake Travis, love for the outdoors and live music.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Surround yourself with good mentors and never stop learning.

What’s your favorite Real Estate iPhone/ Blackberry app?
HAR.com for the iPad is an amazing app that I use almost every day.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
Oprah, Jon Stewart and Ellen Degeneres.
