Social media, they say, is all the rage, and it is now being used by businesses and professionals to get the word out on a professional level. In other words, social media goes far beyond the social aspect for many professionals, and that includes Realtors.

Because today’s homebuyers are Internet buyers (meaning they use the Internet as a major source to find their next home), and because they are also quite comfortable with social media, it only makes sense that Realtors use social media to get the word out about their properties for sale.

Twitter
A few tweets here and there, and pretty soon your property could be the talk of the town. Twitter is an interesting form of social media, as it reaches a large number of people in record time. Send out a tweet and you can be certain it is being seen by scores of your followers in a matter of minutes. Twitter is a short message, but that short message can get in front of as many Realtors as possible in an efficient manner.

Facebook
Facebook, as far as social media goes, still dominates, and Internet savvy Realtors understand this. It is quite common for Internet savvy Realtors to create “fan” pages to highlight their listings and effectively market their listings. Because Facebook is such a powerhouse when it comes to Internet marketing through social media, it should be a given that your Realtors uses this form of media to reach out to other realtors and buyers.

SEO Content
This term may seem foreign to you, but to an Internet savvy Realtors, SEO-rich content is one of the most effective ways to get to the top of the major search engine rankings. In other words, if you Google a common term, such as the area in which you live, plus the term “real estate” or “homes for sale,” your Realtors and or the realty firm should be at the top of the search engine results. And this is accomplished using SEO (search engine optimized) content. The content that your Realtors puts on the Internet in the form of articles, website content or blog content will greatly impact the search engine rankings.
