Paula McGann is a Realtor with Target Realty in Spring.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
I was in property management for 21 years.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Palestine, Texas.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
I love to watch football games. When the season ends, I am miserable…haha.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I will take a walk around the neighborhood, and I like to play computer games where you have to find the hidden object.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I always thought I would be a nurse. I got a job in the management industry and fell in love with the work.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I would like to have lunch with Pastor T.D. Jakes. He is an amazing man. He is very Godly and so smart.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I love being at home. It is so cozy and comfortable.

What do you love most about the industry?
I love helping the people who never thought they could ever have their own home. They are so excited and they love you for helping them.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
A lot of agents are about the money, and I hate to say this, but not a lot want to help the poorer people. If their credit score is not a 700 and they don’t have lots of money in their pockets, they don’t want to deal with them. I am different, because I love to get paid but I love helping the people more.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Credit repair. I wish for a true credit repair person or company. There are so many that take the money and never get anything changed on their reports.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I have a very large referral business. I have been at Target Realty, Inc. for 11 years and have met a lot of people. That is the beauty of helping the needy people. If you help them they will go and tell the world about you.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment would be my son, Colby. I have raised him alone and have been so blessed with such a wonderful son.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
Jumping The Broom! That movie had such a wonderful meaning.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Red Lobster.

What kind of car do you drive?
2011 Cadillac CTS.

Smartphone or paper?
Paper – I am trying to get more modern. It is harder for us older people to adapt to all this new technology, and so fast, too.

What is your favorite city after Houston?
San Antonio.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Do not quit your other job if you have one.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
T.D. Jakes and Mike Murdock.
