Letisha Remirez

Letisha Remirez is a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Anderson Properties working in Houston.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked for Greater Houston Mortgage and Real Estate as a full-time Realtor and loan officer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Meditate.

Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

Growing up, what did you want to be? As a child, I wanted to become a millionaire.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to have lunch with Warren Buffet. Of course, pen and paper in hand, I would ask as many financial questions as he would allow.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place is home. It is where I can relax and enjoy spending time with my husband and kids.

What do you love most about the industry? HOMES, BIG HOMES, LITTLE HOMES, COTTAGE HOMES, STUCCO HOMES! HOMES! Everyone needs a home!!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Helping people and providing great customer service with a smile. In this business, you must stay focused and continue taking every class you can to stay ahead. I have several designations and plan on attaining more.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I worked in the legal field for 23+ years. Now that’s stressful. But as a Realtor, I have not come across anything that I can’t handle.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I never stop meeting potential clients. I greet everyone I come across, whether at the gas station, the grocery store or just out watering the lawn. I also attend community meetings; I am a pet rescue mom; and I am a member of the HOA.

What has been you greatest accomplishment? I had a stroke in 2009. My greatest accomplishment is pushing myself to overcome any weakness I had. I am a fighter, and there is a reason why I am alive – to help others.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I would have to say “Thelma and Louise.” I saw this movie years ago and it’s still my favorite.

What is your favorite restaurant? The boat on 45 South. It’s called “Captain Benny’s.”

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? The old “Christ Cathedral Church” building. It is where I was married.

What kind of car do you drive? Honda Pilot.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Houston? Austin, Texas.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Being a successful Realtor is hard work. Don’t give up!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? If I had to choose only one it has to be HAR.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? That has to be Mayor Annise Parker.
