One of Houston’s top agents, Michael Afshari, has joined Compass from Side Inc., according to a news release.
In 2021, Afshari was the No. 1 Houston agent at Side Inc. and the No. 10 overall agent in Houston, based on sales volume data from BrokerMetrics. He sold more than 100 properties and did more than $72 million in sales volume last year.
“I strongly believe that having your fingers on the pulse within different markets is imperative to the success of any real estate professional,” Afshari said in the news release. “My instinct says now is the right time to make this transition to Compass. I’m most excited about the collaboration and comradery among Houston’s top-tier real estate professionals.”
Afshari grew up in Houston’s Tanglewood neighborhood. He specializes in new developments and luxury real estate, the news release said.
“In less than 10 years, Michael Afshari has built a legacy as one of the top residential real estate agents in Houston,” said Seita Jongebloed, managing director for Compass in Houston. “It’s even more impressive that he’s adapted to specialize in multiple areas and price points, especially new construction.”
Outside of real estate, Afshari is passionate about exercising, meditation and Water.org, a nonprofit that works to improve water access and sanitation across the globe.
