New listings jump ahead of 2022 levels

New listings rose by 12.1% during the week ended Oct. 9, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors entered 2,975 properties into the MLS, up from 2,653 properties during the same time period last year. Pending listings, however, decreased by 0.7%.

Closings fell 11.9% during the week, with 1,399 homes sold compared to 1,587 a year ago.

Showings decreased from 2023 highs, with 31,970 property showings held during the week — only a 1% increase over 2022 volumes. Meanwhile, listing views on HAR.com dropped by 14.7% year over year.
