Texas REALTORS® celebrated noteworthy members and local Realtor associations at the 2023 Texas Real Estate Awards at its winter meeting on Feb. 12.
“The Texas Realtors Awards highlight the exemplary contributions made by professionals and associations to our industry,” said Jef Conn, 2024 chairman of Texas REALTORS®. “This year’s winners have set a remarkable standard, showcasing their commitment to advancing the real estate landscape and enriching our communities.”
Among the award recipients was Mario Arriaga, former chairman of the board for the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR), who was named the 2023 Texas Realtor of the Year. A Realtor since 1974, Arriaga has served on numerous advisory groups and committees including the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and the Texas Realtors Public Policy Oversight Committee. He currently serves as chairman of the Commercial Gateway Division of HAR, chairman of Houston Residential Information Services and regional vice president of Texas REALTORS®.
Two Houston Realtors under age 40 were also honored by the Texas REALTORS® Young Professionals Network with the REALTORS to Watch award: Thalina Garcia of Nan and Company Properties and Shelly Scanlin, leader of the Texas Style Team at Styled Real Estate.
Furthermore, HAR was recognized for its exemplary educational program in the legal category.
