New listings remain high in Houston

by Emily Marek

Following nearly two months of year-over-year increases, new listings continued to outpace 2023 volumes during the week ended Feb. 26.

According to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®, 3,122 properties were added to the MLS during the week. That’s a 28.2% increase over the same week in 2023, when 2,435 properties were added.

Both pending and closed sales continue to lag behind 2023 volumes. Pending listings decreased by 9.7%, with 2,135 properties going under contract; closings fell 7.6%, with 1,575 homes sold.

However, traffic at property showings and listing views on HAR.com both increased annually during the week. Over 41,000 property showings occurred, marking a 3.7% increase year over year. Meanwhile, online listing views increased by 13%.
