HAR: New listings fuel active inventory in Houston

A healthy addition of new listings allowed active inventory to expand in Houston last month, according to the First Real Estate Snapshot of Houston (FRESH) Report from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Realtors entered 12,105 properties into the MLS in February, a 27.5% increase year over year. Last February, only 9,493 properties were added.

Meanwhile, active listings increased by 16.9% year over year, with 23,767 properties on the market during the month.

As options expanded for prospective homebuyers, the average listing price increased by 3.4% to $413,508. A year ago, the average Houston home price was $400,001.
