New listings jump in Houston as pending sales begin to trend upward

by Emily Marek

Both new and pending listings rose in Houston during the week ended Nov. 18, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).

Realtors added 3,271 properties to the MLS, a 33% increase over the same week in 2023, when 2,459 listings were added.

Meanwhile, pending listings increased by 11.8%, with 1,947 homes going under contract, up from 1,407 a year prior.

Closings, however, decreased 1.7% year over year, with 1,531 homes sold compared to 1,558.

Consumers are still showing market interest, though — listing views on HAR.com jumped 55.2%, while property showings rose 8.2%.
