New listings rise annually in Houston but decrease week over week

New listings increased 16.3% in Houston during the week ended May 26, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors added 3,766 properties to the MLS during the week. That was actually down from 4,680 new listings the week prior.

Although pending listings decreased 2.9% year over year, closings increased 4.6%, with 1,678 home sales during the week.

Meanwhile, traffic at property showings increased 4.3% year over year as over 42,000 potential buyers viewed homes.
