HAR: Closings bounce back with nearly 6% annual gain

Following a week of year-over-year declines, closed Houston home sales “bounced back” with a 5.9% annual increase, the Houston Association of REALTORS® said in its latest Weekly Activity Snapshot.

Homebuyers purchased 1,605 homes during the week ended Sept. 22, up from 1,515 closings during the same week in 2024.

Pending listings declined 4.1% however, with 1,979 properties going under contract, down from 2,064 a year prior.

Local inventory was boosted by a 13.1% jump in new listings as Realtors added 3,648 properties to the MLS. Meanwhile, property showings rose 2.6% year over year, with over 35,141 showings.
