Houston home sales tick higher, but pending sales plummet

The Houston Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS.

Pending home sales dove 22.9% in Houston during the week ending May 18, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Buyers contracted on 1,944 listings during the week, down from 2,520 pending listings during the same week in 2025.

At the same time, home sales increased 2.4%, with buyers purchasing 1,909 homes, up from 1,865 a year prior.

New listings were unchanged from last year, increasing just 0.3% as 4,558 sellers put their homes on the market.

Property showings, meanwhile, increased 10.8% as prospective buyers visited over 48,000 homes.
