Consumer interest was piqued in Houston during the week ending April 20, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Property showings increased 19.2% annually, with buyers visiting nearly 48,000 homes during the week. Open houses, meanwhile, increased 28%, with 9,280 events held.

Listing views on HAR.com also increased 12.6% year over year, with buyers perusing over 7.3 million properties (up from about 6.5 million a year prior).

In terms of actual sales activity, new listings increased 4%, with 4,092 sellers listing their homes, as pending listings declined 4% and closings increased just 0.4%.
