New, pending and closed listings all declined annually in Houston during the week ended Sept. 21, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Sellers added 3,379 new listings to the MLS, down 7.8% from the same week in 2025, when 3,665 properties joined the market.

Pending sales plummeted, with 1,554 listings going under contract. That was down 26.8% from 2,067 pending sales a year ago.

Closings also saw double-digit declines: Buyers purchased 1,445 homes during the week, down 12.4% year over year from 1,650.

Meanwhile, property showings and listing views on HAR.com both declined annually as well, by 1.5% and 12.3%, respectively. Open houses increased 5.6%, though, with 9,973 events held during the week.
